Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris born October 20th 1964) is an American politician and lawyer who is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. She is also the first female vice-president and the highest-ranking female official in the United America. She is a part of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally, she served as the United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. After starting her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In the following years, she was the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003, she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. In 2010, she was elected Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate elections, becoming the 2nd African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to be senator in the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. The path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She is most famous for her direct questions to Trump administration officials during Senate hearings.
